    RECOMMENDATION
    It is recommended that the Board receive the nominations for the 2018 Public School Boards'
    Association of Alberta (PSBAA) Awards, as information.
    REPORT
    Background:
    Grande Yellowhead Public School Division is a proud member of the Public School Boards'
    Association of Alberta, a group of public school boards advocating for public school education.
    Context of the Recommendation:
    This year, the division is pleased to note that two trustees are nominated for special recognition
    awards, and one trustee will receive a long service award for her dedication to public education,
    at the annual Spring General Assembly in Red Deer, Alberta, from June 1 to 3, 2018.
    Board Chair Brenda Rosadiuk is nominated for the ‘Dick Baker Legacy Award’, which is
    awarded annually to one public school trustee who has exemplified the values of leadership,
    integrity, and respect during their years of public service.
    Trustee Ken Fate is nominated for the ‘Advancing Association Business and Initiatives Award’
    for his significant contributions to the important work of PSBAA.
    Trustee Shirley Caputo will be receiving a long service award in recognition of her sixteen years
    of commitment to public education.
    Conclusion:
    The division is proud to honour these individuals in recognizing their passion and dedication to
    the success of youth and public education in Alberta.
